Washing Machines Information and Reviews
Washing a basket full of dirty socks, shirts, and towels can indeed be an annoying job. Fortunately, the presence of washing machines has made it an easy-go for cleaning that laundry. The washing machine is a useful home appliance that is used to wash laundry. The user can add laundry detergent, either powder or liquid to the wash water for efficient and thorough cleaning.
The right machines can speed through the task and erase every bit of dirt and trace of odor from the clothes and all accessories. For prospective buyers, it often becomes difficult to choose the right water purifier for their needs. But our in-depth guide will help to ease things out and support the buyer in making the right decision.
Types Of Washing Machines
- Semi-Automatic: entry-level machines contain two tubs, one for washing and the other for soaking. This requires shifting clothes from the wash to the soaking tub manually.
- Automatic: Machines with only one tub which can perform all the functions automatically.
- Top-Loading: Are of two types – impellers and agitators.
- Impellers contain propellers at the bottom to move the clothes in the water.
- Agitators contain a pole with fins that protrudes from the bottom to move the clothes.
- Front-Loading: Machines in which the drum rotates tumbling the clothes for cleaning.
Necessary Features of Washing Machines
- Washtub Material: Made up of porcelain, plastic, or stainless steel. The durability of stainless steel is higher as it can withstand extreme temperatures and spin speed.
- Machine Capacity: Ranges from 4 kg to 10 kg. For cleaning bedcovers, duvets, and heavy curtains, larger capacity is recommended.
- Wash Programs: Involves three functions – washing, rinsing, and spinning. The type of cycle chosen will depend on the kind of fabric to be washed. The program can be altered through a touchpad, touchscreen, remote control, or jog dial.
- Spin Cycle: The spin speed ranges between 600 to 1800 revolutions per minute. The higher the rpm, the drier the clothes will come out. Usually, the variable spin speed setting is recommended.
- Safety Features: Auto restart, rodent protection, child lock, and spin speed stability are the ones to look out for.
- Special Programs: Smart features like temperature controls, automatic dispensers, auto restart, etc. are available in modern-day washing machines.
- Agitation: Big drums with small fins. Low-profile paddles for gentle agitation, tall center agitator, etc.
- Fuzzy Logic: Detects the weight of the laundry and automatically chooses the best washing conditions such as the amount of detergent, the time required, and the quantity of water.
- Time delay and pre-soak: time delay allows you to load the washing machine and start it at a specified period to avoid any noise pollution. The pre-soak facility allows soaking the clothes for a specified period before starting the wash cycle.
Additional Pointers To Consider
- Energy Efficiency: Consumption of electricity and water in a wash cycle. The more the star rating, the more energy-efficient the machine is
- Installation: Easy access to water supply, power supply, and drainage system
- Size and Frequency: Load capacity depending on the daily wash load.
- Warranty And After-Sales Service: Availability of your service in the locality.
